Betsy developed the Soup Of Success program in November 1997 and still directs it to this day. She is passionate about empowering women to find their voices, stop settling and reclaim their lives. Betsy does presentations on the Soup Of Success program and Church Community Services and is a part of the poverty education team. She is active in agency fundraising and development as well as social media communications. Betsy loves designing gift baskets and is always on the lookout for new retail and wholesale customers and people who want to get connected through volunteering! She and her husband Mike live in Elkhart. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, scrapbooking, movies and the lake.

Kathy began at Soup Of Success as a volunteer teaching creative writing and tutoring women who were studying for their GED. She came on staff officially in 2003 and now is the lead facilitator for the Getting Ahead and the popular Practicing Personal Power curriculum as well as career counseling. She also works hard at supporting SOS graduates. Her focus is educating the community on poverty issues and helping people truly understand poverty as a community concern. She still teaches creative writing and assists women in pursuit of a GED. Kathy and her husband Steve live in Elkhart along with their two sons. When not at work, she enjoys being out in nature.
Amy Brock, Production Manager

Amy is a 2005 graduate from the Soup Of Success Program and officially joined staff in 2006. She trains the women on all aspects of food production for the social enterprise component of SOS, facilitates Budgeting classes and is part of the poverty education team. She is gifted at helping women navigate the legal system and is an advocate for living without abuse. Amy hosts dozens of groups throughout the year for Volunteer Work Nights. She loves introducing the agency to community members and gives a wonderful tour. When not at work, Amy loves walking, spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.

Mechiel is a February 2013 graduate of the Soup Of Success program and joined staff as the Textile Production Manager in May 2013. She oversees the “Mittens on a Mission” line and works with volunteers and participants to produce gorgeous mittens out of recycled wool sweaters. When not working, Mechiel loves to watch old movies and cook. She is a member of Creekside Church of the Brethren and lives in Elkhart with her cat Jonah.
