"... standing in the gap" Isaiah 58:6-8

Mission Statement

Our mission at Church Community Services (CCS) is to provide immediate assistance as well as educational self-help programs for persons and households in need, without reference to ability, age, gender, race, or religious belief.

A word about Church Community Services

CCS has been in existence for over 40 years. Several area ministers founded CCS with the idea of serving people who needed temporary assistance from one location instead of going from church to church.

As the needs in the community have changed, CCS has adjusted programs to fill the gaps. In connection with other area agencies, counseling is offered in the areas of money management, employment, nutrition, and crisis management. Annually, CCS serves an average of 5,000 clients, distributes approximately $44,000 in direct aid, and food assistance valued at $125,000.

CCS recognized that impending changes in Welfare would require a different response, one that moved beyond short term solutions.  In the fall of 1997, CCS launched its newest program, Soup Of Success, a proactive job & life skills training program for women.  Women participate in running a small gourmet food business, gaining skills to improve the quality of their lives.

Church Community Services acts as a bridge between church and community. We offer opportunities for individuals as well as congregations to connect with and significantly affect the lives of people in need.
