We are so blessed to have Amanda Magaldi interning with us this summer! Amanda is a Senior at IU Bloomington and is studying at Kelley School of Business. She is majoring in Legal Studies, International Business and Supply Chain Management.
When I first began my search for an internship, I had absolutely no idea where to look or what I even wanted to do. Through a series of events, with doors opening and closing, I was led to Soup of Success. Before Betsy finished her first sentence during our phone conversation, I knew that I wanted to be a part of this amazing organization. My first day at SOS was a whirlwind of tours, smiling faces, and so much information I thought my head would surely explode. As the days have gone on, I’ve slowly settled into the anything but predictable days that accompany SOS. This summer, I will be helping SOS set up and document Standard Operating Procedures for four areas of the organization: retail, warehouse, textile, and production. It is my hope that, using these procedures, SOS can become even more efficient and organized than they already are. I will also be helping out with other projects such as event organization, setting up a Point of Sale system for the SOS store, and generally brainstorming with the staff on how to make SOS even better than it already is. I have my work cut out for me, but I look forward to the challenges and triumphs I’ll encounter at Soup of Success.
